Well, almost....

Despite her best efforts, ranging from the subtle to the not-so subtle, Dr Septimus failed to be properly acknowledged in the first Harry Potter movie. Here are some examples of her (near) appearances.

Of course, it was PURE COINCIDENCE that brought Grusha, Bianca and Alan to Diagon Alley the very same day that Mr Columbus was shooting this scene there!

Grusha is towards the back of the crowd, near Ollivanders. You can't miss her in the movie - she's the one jumping up and down whilst waving her arms at the camera.

Alan and Bianca are somewhere in the vicinity.

The new first years approach Hogwarts Castle in the most dramatic and memorable way imaginable.

They are so overawed by the grandeur of the building, they completely fail to notice Grusha hanging out of her window waving at them!

Admittedly, this might be because her chambers are situated on the other side of the building... but you can't blame a lass for trying!

The Quidditch Match - not the only one of the season, of course, but the only one actually filmed for the movie.

Quidditch season can be a trying time as Grusha is a staunch Slytherin supporter, whilst her kids naturally stay loyal to their own houses (Ravenclaw and Gryffindor).

On this particular occasion though, even Grusha had her mind on other things during the Slytherin vs Gryffindor face-off. But pushing her way to the front of a Slytherin box came to naught, though you almost catch a glimpse of her left hand!

Although she failed to appear in the movie, Grusha's presence can be seen in other ways.

It is her custom to send round Christmas cards to all the other houses, and here you can see her lovely offering - pushed into the background by Potter trying on his invisibility cloak, but nonetheless, that card in the top left corner is from Grusha!!!

The ultimate insult!

Not only was Professor Snape's potions-problem spell cut out of the the movie, but Grusha's own protective magic was also completely ignored!

She had spent weeks on her 'pin the tail on the hyppogryff' challenge, just in case Mr Columbus wanted to use it...

Will Grusha finally get the recognition she deserves in CoS?
