OtherworldBob's Sims 2 Custom Upload Picture Tutorial

Part 2 - Get Your Images in There

Properties

Edit the images you copied to your desktop how you see fit
Use screenshots, overlays, text, funky filters, whatever - this is where those images I told you have come into play!
Just keep the images the same physical size - I'm talking X by Y dimensions here.
I recommend changing only the 'face' and 'whole body' images
but you can change the 'hair' and 'skin' images if you really want to as well.

Read Only

When you are happy with your edits, if the original upload is still going (this is unlikely), kill the upload. The images should disappear from the "The Sims 2" folder, but the edited ones on your desktop should remain.
Copy and Paste your edited images back into the "The Sims 2" folder you have kept open.
Make the JPEG files you just copied back into the folder 'Read-Only',
to do this, right click the JPEG file, select 'Properties' from the pop-up menu, and its one of the file attributes in the window that appears.

Now re-upload the same Sim
If done correctly, Body Shop will use your images, not the auto-generated ones.
Check it worked, if it did, delete the JPEG files from the "The Sims 2" folder that you put there and those on your desktop.
If it didn't work, I don't know... try again I guess!
END!

⇐ Wait, I forgot to do the first thing!

I hope you've found what you were looking for in the ways of local key recovery and custom picture uploads. Feel free to drop me a yell on my SimPage over on the US Forums of The Sims 2.

A note to non-Windows users - this site is aimed at the Windows version of The Sims 2. Mac users will find that my Sims 2 Key Printer will not work for them.
I have no idea how the Mac version of Body Shop works, so best of luck if you're attempting my Custom Picture Upload Tutorial.
